Burning Brush Piles

These include burning building material or other items not allowed by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.  Burning natural brush piles is allowed so long that the pile is smaller than 10′ wide, by 10′ deep, by 5′ high. No trash, treated lumber, or non-natural materials are allowed to burn. Prior to burning, please contact Polk Co. Dispatch so that we may know you are burning and not respond emergency. It is required that an adult over 18 stay with the burn pile and have a hose with them in case any issues arise. If there are complaints of smoke from your fire, you will be required to extinguish your fire. If you have any questions please contact the FD.
