The Bolivar Police Department adheres to the Missouri Sunshine Law in the release of information and records.  Accident reports may be obtained by mail or in person. To allow for processing, these reports are available 7 business days following the date of the accident and can be attained at the Police Dept. during regular business hours.  There is a $3.00 fee for the report and if pictures are available and desired, there is an additional charge.  If requesting by mail, one can mail the request that should include a driver’s name and the date of the accident (if you have it), a self-addressed, stamped envelope, and a check for  the amount of $3.00 made payable to the City of Bolivar.  These should be addressed to the Bolivar Police Department, P.O. Box 9, Bolivar, MO  65613.   An incident report (reports other than accident) can be released in the same manner if per Missouri Sunshine Law, it is determined to be an open case.

The Bolivar Police Department does provide fingerprinting with ink and we offer electronic prints for the public for background checks i.e. employment, visas, housing etc.   The fee for this is $10.00 and can be done during regular business hours, Monday-Friday 8-5.
