Fire Chief – James Ludden

Chief Ludden

James Ludden is a familiar face to the city of Bolivar, but only since July 1st of 2012 has he been hired as the Chief of the Bolivar City Fire Department.

He has been a resident of Bolivar since he began attending SBU in the fall of 1998 where he later graduated from in 2003 with his Bachelor’s Degree. During this time he began volunteering his time at the Bolivar City Fire Department and has worked his way through the ranks from Fire Fighter, Driver / Operator, Captain, and now Chief. Previous to being hired as a career member of BCFD Jim had been employed with SimplexGrinnell, where he was a Fire Systems Inspector and then managed the Fire Safety Systems Inspections Department.

He resides here near the heart of the city with his family, who reside close to his heart. He is Husband to Erin and Father to Kaelen, Tessa, and Landon.

Chief Ludden states, “It is both an honor and a privilege to be the Chief of the Bolivar City Fire Department! And on behalf of all the members of our department and the officer staff, we want to thank the community for their continual support; we could not do it without you!

We will strive to provide the best service possible to Bolivar; and do it with Professionalism, Integrity, Excellence, and Hard Work with a Customer Service Attitude!”
