Wastewater Treatment Plant

The City’s wastewater treatment plant is an aeration ditch type plant with an operating capacity of 2.5 million gallons of waste water per day.  Three full time City employees maintain and operate the plant.  All three employees have a Class C Operator’s Certificate.  The wastewater receives preliminary and secondary final treatment. On a normal day the plant treats 1 million gallons of wastewater. The plant has 180 days of sludge storage capacity.  The sludge is land applied.

Records The Bolivar Police Department adheres to the Missouri Sunshine Law in the release of information and records.  Accident reports may be obtained by mail or in person. Each year during the holidays, the Bolivar Police Department joins with Wal-Mart to sponsor Shop with a Cop®.  Wal-mart designates an amount of money and the department matches it.  Each year local businesses and individuals from our community faithfully contribute to support this wonderful program.  (more…)

D.A.R.E.

Police
D.A.R.E. is, and has been, a special program for the Bolivar Police Department.  In the early 1990’s when the program was first introduced to the mid-west, MSHP Trooper Alan Hines taught the first class in a Bolivar classroom as a trial.  (more…)
